SOS FOREST ATLNTICA


The SOS Atlntica Forest Foundation is a private NGO, established in 1986, without political or religious purposes and not for profit. Whose mission is to defend what remains of the Atlntica Forest, conserving the natural heritage, history, also to help the wildlife in those regions, seeking sustainable development, enhancing the physical and cultural identity of human communities that i n h a b i t i t . The performance of SOS Forest Atlntica is to alert, inform, educate, mobilize and train for citizenship. And receives funding from several large private companies in different areas of activity such as banks, automotive, food, personal hygiene products, and through people who join the cause.

Project ClickArvore
The program was born of a apparently simple idea, then director of the Institute of Environmental Vidgua, Rodrigo Augustine: "There are 5 million Internet users in Brazil: one of them to plant trees resolved via the Internet, we would save the Atlantic Forest. Fundation SOS Forest Atlantica turned the dream into reality, in 2000, launching the site. www.clickarvore.com.br For 10 years, thousands of Internet users could donate one click with your tree every day and monitor their growth over the years. During this period, the Clickarvore enabled the planting of more than 22 million seedlings of native species used to restore 13,000 hectares of Atlantica rainforest. In addition to environmental gains, Clickarvore also contributed to generating jobs and income in areas where farms are located in the restored areas and by market expansion and diversification tree seedlings native to the Atlantica forest.

Among the main Programme, include: support local initiatives for restoration of areas, by fostering and donating seedlings of native tree species of the Atlantic and technical information for its planting, fostering forest seed collection and production seedlings of native tree species of the Atlantic.
