Alphabet Project

Process
How do we capture our community in a photo? Through a series of six workshops, the Alphabet Projects goal is to guide students toward a new appreciation of the power of photography as a catalyst from which to better understand our community. First, we describe our community using words. Later, we communicate these words, and our feelings towards these words, in a series of photographs. At the end of the Alphabet Project, each class has produced a 26-photograph series that relate to 26 words, which correspond to 26 letters of the English alphabet. It is the hope that every class leaves the Alphabet Project with a fresh understanding of not only their community, but also a new appreciation of each students creativity.
