Definitions Of A Dictator Essay
Dictators have been around for centuries, terrorizing and oppressing civilians through
manipulation, genocide, and many other sadistic methods of force. Starting in Ancient
Rome, the term dictator originated from the Latin root word dictare in the late 14c. So,
what is a dictator? The earliest definition that can be found was one who has absolute
power or authority . Other words that have been used to describe dictators over the years
is tyrant , despot , autocrat , and many more.
Everyone has seen dictators in the current news or historic documentaries such as Kim
Jong un, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, etc but perhaps were unaware of their dictator title.
Many leaders have been labelled dictators as they have absolute power that was either
taken by force or through manipulation or even just through blood. However, today we
will be focusing on two dictators who worked their ways up the political ladder to the
position that they strived for. Qin Shi Huang and Than Shwe were both tyrannic, selfish,

Color Psychology
Color is defined as the quality of an object or substance with respect to light reflected by
the object, usually determined visually by measurement of hue, saturation, and
brightness of the reflected light; saturation or chroma; hue (Webster s Dictionary). Color
is an extremely powerful psychological tool used across the globe. Our world would be
bland and boring without the use of colorin our everyday lives. Using color psychology
can encourage sales, calm a crowd, and even help a person send a positive (or negative)
message. Many companies use color psychology in their marketing schemes. June

Finally, even schools are getting in on a bit of color psychology. Some schools are
known to paint the locker room of the opposing team in pink. Yes, pink. Pink drains
energy out of a person and causes fatigue a very strategic move. Prisons are also
known to use pink in their jail cells because it drains all the negative energy from the
inmates. Culture has a large influence on the meanings of color as well. First, China
looks at colors differently than we do here in America. Let us take a look at the color
red once again. In China red is the color worn by brides. If a Chinese woman were to
wear white for her wedding, her parents would not allow her to marry. Secondly, in
India red is also a symbol of purity and good luck, which is why it is the traditional
wedding gown color. Also, yellow is said to be a sacred and imperial color for their
culture. Now, in America, we have different meanings for certain colors than other
countries, and our flag colors and symbols best represent us as a whole. The white
represents purity and innocence, red signifies valor and hardiness, and blue stands for
justice, perseverance, and vigilance. The stars show the heavens and all the good that
people strive for, while the strips emulate the sun s rays. Breaking down each country s
flag by symbol and color only shows, in more detail, the background

Introduction
Symbolism is a literary device and a form of indirect expression. It enables the author to
demonstrate reality, while giving the reader the opportunity to conclude and analyze.
Thus it adds depth to the meaning of the literary work. It functions as pictures and
colors in art that represent thoughts and emotions. Animal Farm is a fable. A fable is a
story, in which all characters are animals symbolizing real life individuals or social
classes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Snowball resembles Trotsky, who took control of the military, and was successful in
creating a victory against Krensky in November. Trotsky also set the Red army that
succeeded in ending civil war in Russia in 1920. Trotsky created an economic plan that
evolved trade with other nations. Considered as an internationalist, he was exiled in
1928 by Stalin: the last major character in the story, who is Napoleon. Napoleon used
studded dogs with collars to spread fear among animals and exile Snowball. A similar
power was used by Stalin, in which he used the secret police. Napoleon also followed
snowball s schemes, but he put animals under harsh working conditions. Such conditions
were common among the Soviet Union, where ten million workers died, due to
starvation. Even though, growth was apparent in both the Soviet Union and Animal
Farm, workers conditions didn t improve. Soviet economy posted an estimated average
annual growth rate in gross national product (GNP) of 5.8% from 1928 to 1940, 5.7%
from 1950 to 1960, and 5.2% from 1960 to 1970 (Investopedia). Only the Bolshevik
party or pigs took advantage of the growth and used propaganda to show otherwise.

Conclusion
George Orwell showed dexterity in creating obvious resemblance between both the story
characters and the Soviet leaders. Therefore, Animal Farm could be considered a true
master piece in the usage of
Ginger Pye Character Analysis Essay
Character: Tell about a decision or choice made by a character. Do you feel the
character made a good decision? Why or why not? In my story(Ginger Pye by Eleanor
Estes), the main character s (a young boy named Jerry) dog is stolen. He has to look
all around the city for Ginger with his sister Rachel, but is unable to find the thief. The
decision Jerry made not to suspect Wally was bad. He showed no signs of interest
because Wally was his friend. Wally, from my views was a very untrustworthy person.
Some of my reasons were Wally was very protective of his house, he was very anxious
to get over any conversations with Jerry and Rachel, and he showed some behaviour
that was to be suspected. When Jerry and his sister Rachel visit their friend Wally s
house, all Wally says is You guys better watch out. I have a big dog in my backyard. If
you guys dare come back, I will sick him on you guys. When they were leaving they did
not for a second suspect that Wally had Ginger in his backyard. It was known that Wally
did not have a dog and Jerry thought that Wally wanted... Show more content on

There is barely any light and most likely Ginger is having to get used to less light. In the
story it said that Ginger was having not allowed to rest because Wally kept on trying to
train him for the circuses. The reason I picked dismal was because the backyard was
very sad and dark. In the book it said the walls were very high and that Ginger was kept
in a corner that was very dark. That is most likely why Ginger ran away from Wally
and his yellow hat. The reason I picked horrid is because everything in the backyard
was way under the standards for a dog as hard working as Ginger. Ginger only had one
chew toy and half a bag of food when he was with Wally. Ginger had the thickest rope
and the tightest knot because when Rachel saw Ginger, she saw a little blood on his
neck and saw the hair was compressed and bunched
