Favorite Book Essay

Crafting an essay on the topic of one's favorite book can be both a delightful and challenging task.
On one hand, the familiarity with the chosen book may inspire a passionate and articulate response,
fueling the essay with personal anecdotes, insightful analysis, and heartfelt reflections. However, on
the other hand, this very intimacy with the text can present a unique set of hurdles.

Firstly, there's the challenge of maintaining objectivity. When discussing a beloved book, it's easy to
slip into biased praise, overlooking potential flaws or alternative perspectives. Striking a balance
between admiration and critical evaluation is crucial to producing a well-rounded and persuasive
essay.

Secondly, there's the pressure to convey the essence of the book in a way that resonates with readers
who may not share the same affection for it. Articulating the reasons behind one's fondness for a
particular book requires careful attention to detail, effective use of evidence, and skillful storytelling
to ensure that the essay captivates and convinces its audience.

Furthermore, the process of distilling one's thoughts and emotions about a beloved book into a
coherent and engaging essay demands introspection and self-awareness. It involves delving deep
into personal experiences, memories, and interpretations, which can be both enlightening and
emotionally taxing.

In conclusion, while writing an essay on the topic of a favorite book offers an opportunity for self-
expression and literary exploration, it also poses challenges in terms of objectivity, audience
engagement, and emotional investment. Nevertheless, navigating these challenges thoughtfully can
result in a compelling essay that celebrates the power and beauty of literature.

Descriptive Essay About A Organ Concert
At first, I did not know what I was truly getting into with taking this course. I did not
know what type of materials that would be taught because I have never taken a music
class before. Let alone have I ever been to a concert before, on February 18th I went to
the Pipe Organ Festival about thirty minutes away from campus. Since this was my first
time going to a professional concert, I did not know what to expect. The concert was
very different than I expected but thankfully I ended up having a great experience and
learned a lot about the organwith listening to the different organists; Mathew Gerhard,
Raina Wood, and Patricia Rozeboom. The first organistwho presented their talents was

Mathew is from Kokomo, Indiana and I thought it was cool to find that out because
that s where I am from as well. I think what drew me to liking him out of everyone was
the song choice, people could sing along, and the crowd was able to enjoy the sounds of
the organ with familiar songs. The first song Mathew played was The Star Spangled
Banner this song was played beautifully on the organ, everyone in the room stood and
it made it feel like we were almost united, even though the room was full of strangers.
It was nice to realize that we all could salute our country together with just a song, and
I think that is very powerful that music is able to do that. The organist did not use to
traditional keys for this song, he used multiple variations of the keys that kept the
crowd intrigued because he was changing up the sound every so often. The organ was
incredibly loud and could put off such a massive vibration of sound. The next song on
this list was the ever so famous, When She Loved me from Toy Story. This was
absolutely my favorite song played within the whole festival because I was able to
relate how the song is normally sung with how Mathew played the organ and what notes
he used to replicate the calmness of this song. The organist did a great job reflecting the

Characterization is arguably the key to exceptional literature. Every aspect, from speech
to mannerism, is essential to a character s effectiveness. Characters both enhance and
complete a work of literature. The way a statement is whispered, or an implicit comment
uttered, is vital to the way a story flows and how a novelevokes intensity. The personality
of each character is the gateway to an undiscovered realm; a place only found between
the confines of two covers. Characters offer insight into that vast world in order to reveal
a newfound understanding of the contents on each and every page. Willa Cathers novel
exemplifies the significance of characterization impeccably. In A Lost Lady, the
characters in the novel establish social influence and insurmountable change on the
inhabitants of Sweet Water. The characters in A Lost Lady first institute social influence
in Sweet Water through the renowned Forrester gatherings. The Captain s nobility and
charisma make him a leader amongst his associates. Simultaneously, Marian Forrester s
beauty and lady like disposition make even the hardest and coldest of [their]
friends...meet the gay challenge in her eyes... (Cather 5). By giving people of all social
levels the time of day, Marian gains the respect and loyalty of everyone she encounters.
The editors of American Literature Volume One agree that, socially, Marian Forrester is
the much admired figurehead of culture and society in the town of Sweet Water... (418).

I Want To Become An Immigrant
I am an Eritrean national who was born and grew up in Eritrea. My parents are from
poor background. I have five siblings (Two sisters and three brothers).

I started education at the age of five and continued till I graduated with a BA degree in
Eritrea. Unfortunately, due to well founded fear of persecution I escaped Eritrea to
Sudan illegally. More precisely, I refused to become a victim of the evil treatment by
the regime in Eritrea. Saying even a word against the government in Eritrea, however,
is considered as a grave crime in the eyes of the tyrant regime. Consequently, I was
arrested, detained, interrogated and badly treated in prison. Luckily, I escaped the
country illegally to save my life using a narrow chance to run away.

Admittedly, the connotation of the word refugee in itself tortured me for years since I
left my country. My ambition to pursue higher education and prepare myself for
advanced research has been damaged because of my status as a refugee. When I came
to the UK, I started to believe that hope contents me. I applied for postgraduate studies
at SOAS University of London to study a taught MA degree in the course of Migration
and Diaspora Studies as mentioned above. Besides, I also applied for refugee
scholarship. Thanks to SOAS university of London, I got admission to study and
scholarship for the course.
Following the admission process and offer of refugee scholarship, I found myself in a
position where I cannot afford accommodation and living costs in London. To be more
explicit, I had to pay $5000 to release my 17 years old sister from nasty human
traffickers in the Sudan. This means I paid all the money I saved for my accommodation
and living cost working as a support worker to human traffickers to release my sister. On
the other hand, this was a threat to my lifelong ambitions of continuing
The Importance of Religion in Aztec and Incas Cultures Essay
INTRODUCTION
Religion played a very important role in the Aztec and Inca culture. Religious rituals
consisted of human sacrifice and polytheism. Their deities were inspired by nature and
the earth s physical makeup. Both appear to be similar but peel back the onion and
notable differences reveal themselves. It is difficult for modern day society to understand
how human sacrifice can exist in such advanced civilizations.
THE INCAS (CHILDREN OF THE SUN)
The Incas Empire began around 1200 and lasted until the Spanish arrival in 1532. They
were the largest civilization in pre Columbia with a territory of 380,000 square miles and
a population of about 7 million. Around 1400 the empire began its expansion stretching

Cristobal de Molina, a Spanish priest who would eventually establish a hospital in Cuzco,
witnessed the Capacoha and recorded the ritual:
Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui also invented the Capacocha, which was carried out in the
following way: The provinces of Collasuyo, Chinchaysuyo, Antisuyo, and Cuntisuyo
would bring to this city, from each town and lineage of people, one or two small boys
or girls, of ten years old. They would also bring clothes and livestock, as well as sheep
[made] of gold, silver, and mullu. These were kept in Cuzco for the reasons that will be
told. After all this was assembled, the Inca would sit in the plaza of Haucaypata, which
is the large plaza of Cuzco. There the children and other sacrifices walked around the
statues of the Creator, Sun, Thunder, and Moon that were already in the plaza for this
purpose. They made two turns around them, and after finishing, the Inca summoned the
provincial priests and had the offerings divided into four parts for the four suyos:
Collasuyo, Chinchaysuyo, Antisuyo, and Cuntisuyo, which are the four regions into
which this land is divided. And he would tell them, Each of you take your share of these
offerings and sacrifices, take it to your principal huaca, and sacrifice them there.
The huaca was the sacred shrine or god and they were all about the Inca Empire. The
children were chosen by the emperor about one year prior to the Capacocha
Examples Of Misfortune In Romeo And Juliet
What is fate? Fate is a course that life takes, that is unchangeable, and is destined to
happen. In the very well known play, Romeo and Juliet , written by William
Shakespeare, various themes exist; however, the theme that is foregrounded in majority
of the play is fate and misfortune . If Romeo and Juliet had never met in the first place,
and if the Friar had been able to send the letter to Romeo on time, a tragic ending could
have been evaded. Fate and misfortune has always stood against both Romeo and Juliet s
relationship from the beginning, as indicated by the device of messages foreshadowed,
and the serious situations the couple face throughout the play, leading to their inevitable
death. Fate and misfortune is considered to be a significant... Show more content on

The couple s doomed fate is foreshadowed when Friar Lawrence says to Romeo just
before Romeo and Juliet s wedding: These violent delights have violent ends... (II, vi,
9). Here, Shakespeare utilizes an oxymoron, repetition and foreshadowing. Violent
delights is an oxymoron, which indicates that both Romeo and Juliet s love is too
intense; it s so passionate that it brings along their untimely death. The repetition of
the word violent emphasizes the brutality with which Romeo and Juliet both love each
other; it is harmful. In this quote, it can be seen that Romeo s fate is already pre
determined as Friar Lawrence reprimands Romeo that often, people who act hastily,
come face to face with situations that are very negative and/or ruthless at the end; this
foreshadows the suicides of Romeo and Juliet that happen at the end of the play, due to
his hasty decision. Another example of fate is when the letter that was meant to be sent
to Romeo from Friar Lawrence containing details of Juliet s fake death, didn t reach him
on time; this is indeed fate opposing against Romeo and Juliet s love, causing their
inevitable demise. When Romeo see s Juliet dead in her tomb, he murmurs to her: Ah,
dear Juliet, Why art thou yet so fair? Shall I believe that unsubstantial death is amorous...
(V, iii, 110 112); this quote personifies death, who

Question 2: (i) Part time Work The Protection of Employees (Part Time Work) Act
2001, is the legislation that protects part time employees in Ireland. This act protects
part time workers, because of the following: 1, Part time employees cannot be treated
less favourably than a comparable full time employee regarding conditions of
employment 2, All employee protection legislation applies to a part time employee in
the same manner as it already applies to a full time employee. Any qualifying
conditions that apply to a full time employee in any of that legislation also apply to a
part time employee. 3, This Act abolishes the requirement that a part time worker
should be in the continuous hourly employment of the employer for not less than 13
weeks and should normally be expected to work not less than 8 hours per week. The
calculation of continuous service for the purposes of entitlement under the unfair
dismissals and redundancy legislation still applies. Therefore, a part time employee will
still be required to have 12 months continuous service with their employer from the start
of the employee s employment. (ii) Fixed term work The Terms of Employment
(Information) Act 1994 requires that employees with a fixed term contract get written
notice of the expiry date. The Protection of Employees (Fixed Term Work) Act 2003
applies to most employees on fixed term contracts. Employees on fixed term contracts
