3rd PLATOON
LEADFARMERS MAY/JUNE 2011
Leadfarmer Family and Friends, We have all been pretty busy in the last few months (enter excuse here for not writing newsletter), and I appreciate everyones patience. As the days have warmed up, 3rd PLT has been spending a lot more time patrolling keeping the peace in country as well as doing everything we can to put a stop any attempt by the Taliban to destabilize our Company AO (Area of Operations). Luckily, the Leadfarmers have had the ability to unwind through the new basketball court that was built on our COP to competing in the Comanche Company 1000 lb Club. Congratulations to the following Leadfarmers for entering the 1000 lb Club: SFC Wertman (1000lbs), SGT Crossen (1020 lbs), SPC Turner (1135 lbs), and PFC Rand (1145 lbs). The Leadfarmers have also seen many changes in our PLT. SSG Houston and SSG Bazemore were laterally moved over to 2nd PLT, while we have welcomed SSG Wrzesinski to our family from 2nd PLT. There are also more changes to come. Unfortunately, as the weeks pass by, so does my time as the Platoon Leader for 3rd PLT (Leadfarmers). Being the PL for this Platoon for the last 16 months has been the greatest and most rewarding assignment I have done in my 12 years of military service. I have never taken for granted the lives of your family and friends that have been entrusted in my care. I want to sincerely thank all of the NCOs and Soldiers from 3rd PLT for all your blood, sweat, and more sweat since I have been your PL. From the live fires back at Knox, to the scorching NTC Heat, to the Afghan snow and traffic, you have always given 100% to this PLT, and you will not be forgotten. As I depart this platoon, welcome 2LT Dolan, who will be assuming the duties as Platoon Leader for the remainder of the deployment. Your family and friends will be in good hands under his leadership, and I expect many more accomplishments for 3rd PLT when he takes over. Keep us in your prayers and thoughts as the weeks and months pass, and as we all look forward to stepping back on American Soil again. Take Care.
