Question 1 Lemna minor is a species of aquatic plant from the duckweed family Lemnaceae. The plant grow by vegetative reproduction: two daughter plants bud off from the adult plant. Lemna minor ialah spesis tumbuhan akuatik dari family duckweed Lemnaceae. Tumbuhan ini membiak dengan pembiakan vegetative.: dua anak pokok akan bertunas dari induknya. An experiment is carried out to investigate the effect of abiotic factor such as pH on Lemna sp. growth. Experiment is done under controlled conditions: 12 hours a day light exposure and using the same Knops solution. Satu eksperimen akan dijalankan untuk mengkaji kesan faktor abiotik seperti pH ke atas pertumbuhan Lemna sp. Eksperimen ini dilakukan di bawah dua keadaan kawalan: pendedahan cahaya 12 jam sehari dan menggunakan larutan Knop yang sama. Petri dish is filled with 20 ml Knops solution with different pH value and 5 Lemna sp. each. The Knops solution is treated by adding acid or alkali to achieve the pH value needed. Piring petri diisi 20 ml larutan Knop dengan nilai Ph berbeza dan 5 Lemna sp. Setiap satu. Larutan Knop itu dirawat dengan ditambahkan asid dan alkali untuk mendapat nilai pH yang diperlukan. ** Knops solution is a solution which contains essential nutrient for plants growth. Question 2 When we drink a lot of water, the osmotic pressure of blood will fall below normal level. Less anti diuretic hormone to be produced by the hypothalamus. Less water will be reabsorbed and most of the water is passed out during urination. Apabila kita meminum banyak air, tekanan osmosis darah akan jatuh di bawah paras normal. Sedikit jormon anti diuretik akan dihasilkan oleh hipotalamus. Kurang air akan diserap semula dan banyak air akan dikeluarkan bersama air kencing. Design an experiment to study the effect of drinking different quantities of water on urine output.
