Treasures of the heart are collections of poems that dwells
more the heart. It’s a collection of some of the finest

I had the unique opportunity
Of watching my beloved

I wanted to go and share with her

Cos she appeared weak and tired

The quietness
The comportment
It had a lasting impact on me

At the end
I fell asleep
And when I woke up
She had gone

But I wasn’t tired

My feet was weak

My body was aching
But my heart was strong
My heart had never failed me
Since that Beautiful April
When she told me she loved me
Almost wept when I got home
Cos she really meant it
I saw it in her eyes

It was almost getting dark

And it was also raining
But my body was warm
Warmed by the love burning in my heart
I wasn’t afraid of the darkness
Neither did the rain discourage me
My desire was to behold her sweet
And lovely face.

I had come to love the Lord

For bringing me from darkness to light
And when I saw that beautiful light
At the end of the narrow path
My heart was overjoyed
Standing so tall and elegant
Was my dearest treasure

The journey had been so tiring

But fresh strength came
When I looked into her eyes
Eyes that were filled with compassion
Compassion for the one she loved
Who had come all the way
To share with her
The greatest Joy of life

And as I walked back home

My heart was so heavy
Heavy for the one dearest to my heart
It was the most painful experience
I’ve ever encountered
Leaving her behind
But her last words strengthened me
Holding my hands
She had whispered softly to me

Tears filled my eyes

As I remembered the wonderful moments
What kept me going
Was the hope
I’ll see her again

The silence was deafening

It seemed like eternity
At last came the voice
So strong and reassuring

The apple of mine eyes

These few years
For a purpose

I have patiently prepared
Just for you.

I walked past her house
And she was there sitting, as she had
Always done.
So radiant and beautiful
So quiet and innocent looking

And suddenly she called my name

I thought I was dreaming
But it was her calling my name
Who told her my name?

I walked towards her

And she looked steadfastly on me
I had always dreamt of this moment
When I’ll see her face to face

She stretched forth her hands to me

Clement, please help me!
Her cry melted my heart
I stood transfixed, confused and helpless
It was the most painful cry I’ve ever heard
I gave her my hands
My beloved friend, I may not have much
But such as I have I give unto you
My whole heart and life, I give unto you

She stopped crying

And as my hands touched hers
She smiled
It was the loveliest smiles, I’ve ever seen
A smile that humbled me beyond measure

And as I left afterward

I felt so joyful
It wasn’t because of the coming Christmas
It wasn’t because I had abundance
It was that beautiful Angel I saw
That brought so much joy to my life

And as I walked home under the dew of hermon

She whispered her name…………..
It sounded like music in my ears
So precious was the gift
That it could not be
Compared to silver Nor Gold

We left each other
Without saying good bye
It was never intentional
Never planned it that way

Five whole days passed

Without seeing each other
And they were the longest days of my life
It was really boring and unpleasant

A thought came to my heart

I knew it was from the pit of hell
Are you sure she loves you?
It was really terrible

I made a decision when I met her

And it was the most important decision of my life
To love and cherish my treasure
To be with her in good and bad times
To spend the rest of my life with her

Happy New Year!
Bang! Bang!! Bang!!!
It was the sound of bangers
Heralding the coming of yet another New Year
And in a small Pentecostal Church
Hundreds of enthusiastic members were praying
Some making vows
Others making promises
While majority were making
New Year resolutions

Lord this Year I will never drink again

Daddy help me never to commit fornication any more
Lord help me to start coming to Church early
Father I refuse to fight with my husband this year
Lord help me to control my appetite for food
On and on it went ……………
And suddenly the Church bell rang
It was 12 midnight
The moment everyone had been waiting for
Those who had no time to conclude
Their New Year resolution
Quickly sprang to their feet
Shouting, clapping, dancing and singing
Happy New Year

Within few hours of entering the New Year

Half the resolutions that were solemnly made
Started falling like packs of cards
It was business as usual
Why live in deceit?
Why committing yourself to unrealistic vows
Why disturbing other genuine supplicants?
The New Year comes with new challenge
Never depend on your own power
To hold on to your New Year resolutions
Depend absolutely on God
For with God all things are possible

Ask the common man on the street

And your ears will be overflowing
With tales of woes
Woes of Neglect

Dearly beloved;
I am writing to let you know that everything will be okay
Though you may be weak and discouraged
Be rest assured that the Lord will strengthen you
Every affliction has an expiry date

As long as the Lord is on the throne

He will show himself strong on your behalf
It may seem like eternity
But never give in to discouragement
For the Joy of the Lord is your strength.

It wasn’t easy
The pains
The stripe,
The thorns

It was love
Not just an ordinary love
But Agape love
That made you go through it all
All because of me

The road was bumpy and rough

All the way to Calvary
With such weight and pains
You endured the shame and cross
Without even a drop of water
Only vinegar and mockery

Finally you made it

To Golgotha
Place reserved for criminals
You who knew no crime
Naked and thirsty
You still showed love

Father forgive them for they know not what they do

I felt ashamed
And cried aloud
What kind of love!
That can compel a saint
To lay down his life for sinners like me?
 SOAR LIKE THE EAGLE
As you retire from active service
Remember it’s not yet over
So many are looking up to you
For encouragement, advice and leadership

Chicks are satisfied with crumbs

But eagles go for special things
And up in the sky
They are never afraid

As the Eagle bird

May you soar higher
In your new challenges in Life
Never rest on your oars

It won’t be easy
But you are more than capable
To achieve great things
As long as you remain committed.
 ONE FLESH
Today as you both become one
May the fountain of Joy that brought
You both together
Never cease to flow

As the lily among thorns

May your lovely bride be the centre
Of your Joy
May your home be filled with laughter
With children surrounding your table

May you both choose Joy
