Rules for the Corporate Relay Challenge

1. A Corporate Relay Team will consist of a Swimmer, a Cyclist and a Runner, each of whom must be named on the Entry Form, to be submitted before the start of the race. 2. Team Members may be male or female: prizes in the Corporate Relay are not based on gender. 3. All members of the Team must hold full-time employment with the company or corporation which enters the Challenge. Consultants, freelancers and other "ringers" will not be permitted to compete in the Challenge. 4. Any Team may report another Team for allegedly fielding an ineligible member, or ringer. In such a case, the organisers reserve the right to disqualify a Team from the Challenge, unless the Team can provide proof of employment for each of its members. 5. Each Team will hand in an entry fee of 100 or 120 before the race. If Team members raise more than this amount, the organisers will gratefully accept a larger payment, to be passed onto the designated local charity. 6. All members of the Team must observe the general rules of the NatWest Gibraltar Triathlon, in addition to those listed below. 7. Each relay exchange should take place within a designated Relay Zone, as indicated by race officials. 8. The Swimmer should complete the swimming course, as with any other triathlete, before touching the Cyclist with his or her hand, while both are in the Relay Zone. 9. After completing the cycling course and returning the bike to the rack, the Cyclist should touch the Runner with his or her hand, while both are in the Relay Zone. The Runner should then complete the Triathlon course to the finish line. No other Team member will be allowed to cross the finish line. 10. If either exchange is not completed within the Relay Zone, or the bike is not in the rack when an exchange takes place, the Team will be disqualified. 11. Prizes will be awarded for the First, Second and Third Corporate Relay Teams to cross the finish line. The race time is from the start of the swim to the end of the run, as the watch does not stop during the handover between Team Members. 12. The First Prize will include a Challenge Shield, which the winning team will be able to engrave, before returning to the organisers in time for the 2012 Corporate Relay Challenge.
