been read, understood and correctly signed.
The Gibraltar Triathlon Association reserves the right to reject any application and to refuse
entry to any competitor on race day.
Please arrive promptly for registration, as there is much to do before the race starts.
Each individual competitor or relay team will be allocated a race number on race day, and
will be handed safety pins to attach these numbers. Organisers will additionally use a
marker pen to write race numbers onto each competitors body.
Competitors must cross the finish line at the correct point, showing their number to the
official timekeeper. If you do not do this, your result may not be recorded.
A top must be worn throughout the cycle and the run, with the number clearly visible on
the back. Failure to apply this rule may result in time penalties or disqualification.
Bicycles and helmets, which are compulsory, are to be checked before placing equipment
at designated spot in transition area. No competitor will be allowed to move a bicycle
during the race unless wearing a helmet.

All competitors must attend a pre-race briefing on the rules and the route, which should be as follows
but may change on the day:
Swim: From behind a line in the water by the rowers pontoon, swim towards the first marker buoy
which you should keep on your right, then right again around a second buoy, before exiting the water at
the steps of the Calpe Rowing Club, before entering the Transition Area to collect your bicycle.
Cycle: First, properly secure the helmet to your head. For safety reasons you may NOT cycle in the
Transition Area, and must push your bike out until a marshal tells you it is safe to mount your bike and
start on the course. Cycle on the right hand side of the road towards McDonalds roundabout, right
again on Europort Avenue towards Regal House, then right again at Regal House onto Queensway.
Head South up to the Coaling Island roundabout, right again onto Bishop Caruana Road, and back
towards the rowing clubs to complete the circuit. Complete SIX laps. In the last ten metres of your final
lap, bear left to exit the bike course and re-enter the Transition Area. There will be cones marking the
cycle route and marshals to give directions. You are responsible for counting your own laps, though
you may be disqualified if you do not complete the correct distance.
Run: Leave the Transition Area through the pedestrian exit, and always keeping on the right hand side
of the pavement, run towards St Bernards Hospital, turn left at Atlantic Suites towards Europlaza,
passing the Hospital, turn right at Europlaza to head North on the pavement, keeping the park on your
left. A marshal will direct you into the park through which you will return to Europlaza and back again
the way you came, always keeping on the right hand side of the payment. Complete TWO laps. There
will be cones marking the run route and marshals to give directions.
If, for whatever reason, the sea is declared unsafe on Race Day, the organisers may stage a
duathlon (a run, followed by a cycle, followed by a second run) rather than a triathlon.
