Many people assume that living a healthy lifestyle is difficult for them just because they do not have

the time. However, it does not have to be a rigorous workout and diet plan in order to be healthy. One can easily live a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management. In order to be healthy, it is important to eat a variety of foods. Choose lean cuts of meat with fat trimmed such as poultry without skin and fish rather than fatty cuts of meat such as bacon, sausage, and fried chicken. Also, consume eggs and dairy products for healthy bones. As for fats and oils, eat soft margarine spreads and extra virgin olive oil. Do not forget to consume whole-grain bread, cereal, and pasta as well as fresh organic vegetables and fruits. It is important to have little portion of all of these foods every day. Exercise is also crucial for a healthy lifestyle. Try to partake in a physical activity for a minimum of thirty minutes at least five days a week. If interested in strength training, remember to train two or three nonconsecutive days or train every day where each day is focused on only one part of the body. During the exercise sessions, do not forget to stretch before and after as well as balance training because balance tends to deteriorate as one gets older. Simple yoga exercises will do. As for sleeping, studies show that people who sleep between 6.5 hours and 7.5 hours a night live the longest. Therefore, in order to be healthy, one should sleep for around seven hours a night for an adequate rest.

Managing stress is also important to live a healthy lifestyle. The most effective way to deal with stress is to exercise. With physical activity, rather it is jogging, gardening, or even walking, it helps to move around to release energy. Avoiding extreme reactions, getting enough sleep, and changing ones perspective of the cause of stress also help. Try being positive of the situation, making the right choices, and staying organized. If in a time constraint, simply counting to ten, taking deep breaths, or stretching can alleviate ones stress.
