ANG BANGKAY SA CORINTHO

Ang Bangkay sa Corintho tells the story of the Corintho family who owns funeral business. After mother Milagros died, the only child Isabel was expected to handle the business and take over the responsibilities of taking good care of her father, Seor Segismundo. Isabel discarded her fathers will because she wanted to have a normal life away from corpses and never wanted to grieve for the rest of her life. The father, unwittingly evil, had other plans: make Isabel stay by asking Lemuel, the embalmer of the Funeraria, to marry Isabel in exchange for a grand burial for Lemuels mother. The father had one condition, though: Lemuel should not sleep with his daughter. The reason for this was Seor Segismundos evil plans over his daughter and his self-interest, putting him and the rest of the Corintho household to an awful end. In this story it tells us that it is really important for us to see the good and evil to appreciate life. We should find darkness to appreciate the light. The story tries to tell us that we are so lucky unlike Isabel because she doesnt have the chance to live a normal life. She a kind of girl who cant stand on her own, she tries to stay away from his father but she is afraid to him. Isabel live her life with the path lend by his father. We are so lucky that we are free and our parents are willing to support us in every decision we made because it is our will. This story touched me because it helps me appreciate what kind of life I have today.
