    Joseph was his father Jacob's favored son who had dreams that his brothers would bow down to him, causing them to become jealous. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers and later falsely accused and imprisoned in Egypt. While in prison, Joseph interpreted dreams which led to him being appointed by the Pharaoh to help Egypt prepare for a famine by storing food. When the famine came, Joseph's family traveled to Egypt for food and were reunited with Joseph, who forgave his brothers and had them live in Egypt with their father Jacob.

    JOSEPH

    Means God adds/ increase Man of highest moral character/ righteous person

    Jacobs favored son Technicolor coat= what Jacob gave to show his appreciation to his son.

    Brothers= jealousy

    JOSEPHS TWO DREAMS

    1st dream his 11 brothers represent were represented by sheaves of wheat. During the dream the sheaves all bowed down before his .

    2nd dream- the sun, the moon and the 11 stars all bowed before him.

    Temptation of Joseph- Potiphars wife

    Shows his loyalty to his values when he resists Potiphars wife

    During his trials: God was with him throughout

    He remained faithful and did not give up

    In prison he helped the butler by interpreting his dreams

    Interpretation of the pharaoh's dreams:

    7 years of plenty followed by seven years of famine

    Suggested in preparing for the famine by storing food

    Pharaoh made Joseph the head of state to implement his plans for the famine

    When the famine hit Joseph's family , they then decided to go to Egypt for food. Joseph tested the brothers

    He forgave them and persuade them to live in Egypt with their father, Jacob

    God is working not only for Joseph himself, but also for the larger purposes of Gods redemptive plan.
