42,000/yr This position exists to provide academic advisement to low-income, firstgeneration high school participants enrolled in the USC Educational Talent Search (ETS) program. The ETS Senior Academic Advisor provides leadership within the department and unit in the areas of program planning, supervision, and development. This position will supervise two Academic Advisors and several student workers and program tutors. The incumbent's mission is to encourage, support, and guide participants through high school graduation, enrollment in programs of post-secondary education, and successful submission of financial aid applications. Additionally, this position will develop a collaborative relationship with target school personnel, USC TRIO staff, university representatives, and parents/guardians of program participants. An ideal candidate will meet outcome objectives as defined in their designated program grant(s). He/she will be responsible for complying with University and TRIO policies and regulations, and maintaining the audit ability of student files. Most importantly, an ideal candidate has a sensitivity and understanding of the academic and social needs of target student population.
