A dog handler in the police force is a very rewarding and very exiting job. The job of a dog handler is to train a working dog and to take care and look after them. Also they control the dog if there has been an incident and will point the dog in the right direction. Police dogs are a huge asset to the police service. Not only do they help to deter criminals and safeguard the public they also offer an amazing sense of smell. If we did not use police dogs wit would be near impossible for a human to do the same work rate and same sense of smell that a dog can achieve.
