Secure Central Lines Central-Gard has a special medical grade adhesive on its foam frame which efficiently secures the subclavian and jugular lines for up to 5 days. This means that a smaller quantity of dressings is used for each procedure. Easy inspection of puncture site The transparent membrane component ensures that the puncture site and catheter position can be easily monitored at all times, which reduces the risk of any contamination. No moisture build-up The high permeability of Central-Gards transparent PU film window, minimises build-up under the dressing, thus extending the life of the dressing. Minimal risk of contamination As moisture does not build up under the film, the excessive growth of micro-organisms which can be seen under some dressings does not occur. Additionally, Central-Gard has the added benefit of containing a foam frame, which not only gives the line extra security, but it also prevents the ingress of secretions and micro-organisms. Two sizes Central-Gard is available in two different sizes. This enables the nurse or doctor to choose the perfect securement device for central line catheters inserted into either the subclavian vein (668M) or jugular vein (667M). Additionally, 667M can be used for peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines). Three foam strips are provided for further fixation of the line.
