Project Assignment Guidelines


1. Every student should do individual assignment; no group activities. 2. The assignment efforts includes a. Selecting an Indian Manufacturing or Service company having turnover more than 400 crores. b. Study of the supply chain management practice in the selected company. Student could focus ONE or More core areas of supply chain management for study. For example, Demand Forecasting, Manufacturing scheduling, Pricing and promotion Management, Strategic Warehousing, Transportation etc. In service environment student could focus on material flows if any, service operations management, service level management, logistics etc. c. Student should ideally visit / interact with the officials of the company for data collection. In other case, they should gather data from any open source but mention the same in references section of the report. d. Should student require any help for company selection they could approach faculty directly. 3. The Project assignment submission should be done in soft copy by individual students and the coordinator should write a CD and send to faculty. 4. The report should be submitted in following structure: a. Project Report in the MS Word document (no page limits; what matters the quality). Syntax for file name: <RollNo_Report>. For example, roll no 12 will name his report file as 12_Report. b. One presentation in .ppt format (maximum slides = 10 without any animation effect). Syntax for file name: <RollNo_Present>. For example, roll no 45 will name his presentation file as 45_Present. c. One folder where all reference texts, files etc are maintained. Syntax for folder name: <RollNo_Reference>. For example, roll no 20 will name his reference folder as 20_Reference. d. It is expected to create one folder per student where all above mentioned three files (2 files and one folder) will be stored. The syntax for this folder is <RollNo_Name>. For example, Shyam (Roll No 85) will name his general folder as 85_Shyam. 5. Submission calendar a. Sending info on selected company and scope of the Project to faculty: by 11th August 2011. b. Submission of the final assignment folder to Coordinators: by 9th September 2011. c. Cutting CD and submission of the CD to Faculty: by 14th of September 2011.
