Native Americans life before Columbus was good for the Natives because there was peace and no fighting in the Americans. The life style of Natives is to care for your family and that their tribes are the extend family. The women of many tribes were the leaders and care for the kids.

But it will soon change when a man named Christopher Columbus lands on the shores of the Americas. The Columbus ask the king of Spain to pay for a trip to find a shorter route to China and India. The three ships he took on this voyage were the Santa Maria, Pinta, and the Santa clara or the Nina.

When Columbus arrived to the new world he thought that it was India because when he saw the Natives they were a brown skin like in India, but really was on one of the many islands of the Americas. At first the Natives treated him like a king because of the skin that he had was white and theirs brown and never saw a man that had white skin.

As time went on Columbus was getting mad at the natives because they gave him food animals and fur, but what he really wanted was gold because he needed to pay back the king of Spain for giving him money to pay the crew and the ships to get to India.

But many natives started to get sick because Columbus had the flu and many native had never had the flu and got very sick and could not work and got in trouble for not giving him gold to pay back the king of Spain.

Columbus ordered the natives to give him gold or they would get in trouble for not giving him gold every 3 months and to show that they give him gold they had to wear a necklace with a token on it.
