Lady GaGa links together fashion and music, declaring herself a superstar in McQueen from the Bad Romance

music video.

Lady GaGa is an amalgamation of pop culture. She employs Brechtian theatre techniques at her shows, references David Bowie and Grace Jones in her performance art, and she follows the philosophies of Oscar Wilde and Andy Warhol. She is the very definition of a high brow pop star. The center of all of this being the fashion; what is she going to wear next!? You can never be sure with GaGa, but one thing is for certain you dont want to miss this exhibit. The fashion will be just as unforgettable as the pop star herself.

Art is a lie. And every day I kill to make it true.

-Lady GaGa
Like Andy Warhol before her, Lady GaGa plays the role of paparazzi for the paparazzi.

A self-created simulation, she is no puppet, mindlessly executing a secret agendum; she is a selfstyled, self-aware, and charismatic mannequinan artificial person who knows how to exploit, extend, and exacerbate the contemporary zeitgeist in her exploration and cultivation of fame.

By using other artists foundations and ideas, she creates a hyper-surreal fantasy world which she expresses through fashion, theatre, and music. The exhibit will explore this world and the inspirations behind it.
