BIOGRAPHY
He was born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain. On May 11, 1904.
He studied in Madrid to becoming a painter, at school of “Bellas
Artes”. In 1920.
He recived his first award in 1922 with his work “Mercat”
(market).
His friends were Luis Buñuel, Federico García Lorca, Pedro
Garfias, Eugenio Montes, Pepín Bello, ...
In 1925 he was spent his holidays with Federico García Lorca in
Cadaques.
He visited Paris in 1926 for the first time. In there he met
Picasso.
In 1927 his paintings show its first surrealist’ influences.
He met Gala in 1929.
He did two films with Buñuel, an important Spanish director.
The first film, called Un chien andalou, and the second L’âge
d’or.
He married with Gala in 1934
He began to take part in the screenplay of a Hollywood
movie, Giraffes on Horseback Salad also know who “La dona
surrealista” (The surrealist woman) In this project also
participed with he Harpo.

In 1945 he worked with Alfred Hitchcock another important
Hollywood director, in the film Spellbound.
In 1964, Salvador Dalí recived the Great Cross of the Isabel
Catholic.
In 1969 he bought the Púbol castle and it is decorated for Gala
He died in Galatea’s tower on Genuary 23, 1989.

MY OPINION ABOUT HIM
I think Salvador Dali was a peculiar man.
His way of thinking and acting it were too at one end.
Everyone can thought about how you want. But I think that the
things that made Dali to protest were too exaggerated.
On the other hand I think it was an excellent painter.
He made any painting class: surreal, impressionistic,
avanguardista, modernist...

Some of their works is very original and beautiful.
