    WHEREAS: On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the Palestinian Islamist movement, Hamas,

    carried out a terrorist attack on the state of Israel in which over 1,000
    people were killed, including at least 14 Americans; and

    WHEREAS: The people of Minnesota strongly condemn the attacks on Israel by


    Hamas; and

    WHEREAS: For over 75 years, the United States and Israel have been united by a
    shared commitment to democracy, economic prosperity, and regional
    security.

    NOW, THEREFORE, I, TIM WALZ, Governor of Minnesota, do hereby order all United States
    flags and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state buildings in the State of Minnesota effective
    immediately until sunset on Saturday, October 14, 2023, to remember, mourn, and honor the lives lost.

    IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set


    my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State
    of Minnesota to be affixed at the State Capitol
    this 11th day of October.
