Del Cerro Action Council Update October 3, 2011

Congratulations to the first Miss Del Cerros. The young ladies were crowned 'Ms Del Cerro' on September 25, 2011 in Rancho San Diego, California. Over $1500 in scholarships were awarded.

The three titleholders now move on to the Miss California State Finals on November 5th and 6th 2011 at Eastlake High School Theater in Chula Vista. Their platform as part of the Council for Youth Empowerment is to take advantage of the opportunity to give back to their community. CYE offers scholarships and personal growth through the joy of performing volunteer work. The girls will volunteer in Del Cerro and throughout San Diego County. Each striving to earn the prestigious Presidential Volunteer Service Award. One event they will be participating in is the 'Princess Read for a Day'.
