Student Legislative Council Meetings

SLC 69/14 September 27, 2011 SLC unanimously passed the second readings of the 2011-12 SU Strategic plan and executive goals. SLC 69/13 September 20, 2011 A report was presented on behalf of the CRO, who was unable to attend in person, regarding the upcoming Bi-election. SLC unanimously passed the first readings of the 2011-12 SU Strategic plan and executive goals. After a thorough reading, I felt the content was in the best interest of the UofC as a whole, as well as HSB students. SLC 69/12 September 13, 2011 Personal absence Recruiting event

2. Faculty Work (and connecting with constituents) Clubs Reachout Spoke to a number of club executives at Haskayne orientation, and attended our monthly Presidents circle meeting on the 27th. 3. Committee Work Clubs Committee (September 27, 2011) Discussed changes to the clubs committee terms of reference. These new changes would make the committee run more efficiently. Considered the possibility of conducting a Clubs Annual General Meeting, in order to ask club executives how they believe clubs committee is, and should be, working. Haskayne Alumni Board The alumni board is happy to announce that Eva Friesen (MBA) has been selected as the 2011 MAX Award recipient.

4. Other Presidents Circle (September 27, 2011) Discussed the pending renewal of Haskayne Dean Leonard Waverman. Noted the importance of the SUs current Get Out The Vote campaign Updated to group on the status of the Clubs Trailer renovation project, why it is currently stalled, and where we will need to go next. Orientation Week Presented on the SU to the incoming class of Haskayne students. Explained services, events and other benefits the SU offers. I manned a table for my student club at Haskayne orientation, while also talking to students about the SU. Moderated a number of SU mandatory sessions with Patrick Straw (VP OpFi) and Matt McMillan (VP Ext). . Strategic Management Association Established a new management consulting club at the University of Calgary. This helps me deliver on a campaign goal to achieve more casebased learning in the classroom. Our group is planning a series of case workshops in November, which will be geared primarily toward Haskayne students, but open to those from anywhere on campus. Students Union SLC Retreat 2011 Outlined my personal goals for the year, similar to what I established in my campaign platform in the Spring. Discussed the stall on the clubs trailer project, and how best to procede Explained how business students felt regarding the new market modifiers Project Next Eyes High Kickoff (September 28, 2011) The UofC presented its new strategic plan to become a top-5 Canadian University by 2016 (5 years). Currently working on implementation strategies. Contacted Haskayne student leaders on September 29th to solicit feedback regarding Academic Planning. 5. Goals
