EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATON Exercise: Revise Placement Brochure The following extract from a brochure can be more effective, if the

following steps are taken: a) Eliminating redundant words/phrases; b) Changing passive voice to active voice; c) Shortening the sentences; d) Punctuating appropriately; e) Sequencing the ideas more appropriately; f) Focusing on the reader; and g) Providing an action-oriented closure. Carry out such steps and rewrite the communication. In the CRP of BSMED, various organisations willing to recruit MBA students are invited to the school from November '89 onwards. except 1st and 2nd weeks of December and April. The school has facilities for organizing interviews in the campus and all necessary arrangements in this regard will be coordinated by the placement office. The Placement office acts as a liaison between the organisations and the students. Interested organisations are requested to furnish the necessary information and mail it to the Placement Office. Interviews for selection could be scheduled as per mutual convenience. Prior intimation to the placement office about your recruitment plans would facilitate us to make the necessary arrangements. The students are available for placement interviews (both on and off the campus) on all dates
