BOAT DESIGNS FROM THE '40's: TREASURES FROM THE PAST

ZIPPER-A RACING SCOW

Touted as "twenty feet of the fastest type sailing craft afloat...,"Zipper might well have been the forerunner of the Y-Flyer racing scow class. Zipper was designed by Dave Hammel and S.S Rabl (Anyone know if those are Sam's initials?) for inland lakes and waters. She's meant to be sailed fast on the chine at about a 12-15 degree angle.
