Dear Laura and Adam,
We write in response to Adam’s November 2 email message noting that The Post wishes to
speak on-the-record to Harvard University and President Gay. As discussed in our November 3
telephone conversation, we are somewhat surprised by this request since (1) Harvard and President
Gay have already provided substantial information and written testimony conclusively rebutting all
of the false allegations proffered by The Post; and (2) since receiving that information, The Post has
not identified any additional questions or allegations it wishes to ask about. Nor has The Post
responded to any of the questions we posed about the origin of the “complaints” purportedly
received by The Post giving rise to these inquiries — and why those “complaints” have been brought
to The Post instead of a proper academic channel.
We appreciate your assurances that The Post is taking seriously the important issues presented
in our October 27 letter — and that senior editors and attorneys are independently reviewing the
questions we have raised and the critical information and written testimony we have provided. Our
clients are relying on those assurances, particularly given the irreparable harm that would result from
publication of false allegations of plagiarism — a publication that would not only be without basis,
but in reckless disregard of the express testimony of the scholars whose work is allegedly at issue.
While our clients remain open to engaging with The Post in some manner, there is currently
nothing to address. We have conclusively rebutted (with evidence) all the false allegations of
plagiarism that have been presented to date, and The Post has not come forward with any
information, evidence, or source contradicting or questioning those rebuttals. If The Post believes
