SOL Community: for sustainable communities and community leaders: introducing Transition Culture

SOL Community, Eco-Campus Foundation and Resurgence Trust can help show
how community can benefit from Transition Culture.

We comprise a grant-making organisation,

offering: support, resources, courseware and start-
up services (including ideas incubation in
conjunction with Zen Cafes@ The Hub).

We welcome applications from individual students

who want to combine study with independent
travel.
We welcome applications from professionals and
entrepreneurs who want to learn about ways to derive maximum reward by
participating in Transition Culture.
We especially welcome Social Entrepreneurs as well as Dharma students and
Dharma practitioners who want to realise Right Livelihood as component of
engaging with community needs.

As an independent retreat centre we encourage

those who want to deepen their practice and
understanding. We welcome those who are
familiar with Buddhist tradition, Dharma and
Sangha, and in practice want to derive greater
insight through yoga, meditation,
Qi Gong, aikido and Right Livelihood.

We especially welcome applications from

ordained Buddhists who want to set up their own
café, workshop, retreat centre or community
centre. Collectives of Buddhists and Dharma practitioners are welcome. Our
specialisation is holistic arts and healing arts for complementary health
practitioners.

For centres that need to generate secure long-term revenues by engaging with
local students, professionals and their organisations we provide opportunity to
generate immediate income from membership services from delivery of language
learning, EFL services, courses, workshops and seminars.

These can be for subscribing members and run on a Dana basis. Alternatively, we
can conduct a needs-analysis of your requirements based on demand in your area
for services you can offer.

The SOL Community connection with Resurgence Trust and Schumacher College
means that we recommend subscription to Resurgence and provide offers of
interest to graduates of Schumacher.
Our work serves to introduce the works of Maurice
Ash, Satish Kumar, John Lane and others. In
particular we refer to Chapter Four of “Small is
Beautiful” by the economist E.F.Schumacher.
From this chapter on Right Livelihood a Buddhist
political ecology flows.
We welcome applications from Dharma
practitioners who want to teach, and see
resurgence for Buddhist values and Buddhist
insight as especially relevant in addressing the
needs for ethical consumers and 21st Century
lifestyle issues that affect People and Planet.

up and run locally.

As a teacher trainer or trainee you can draw on

the resources and expertise of Study Direct and
Eco-learning as well as the resources of
Resurgence and Schumacher Community to
