Keynote Keynote
Acclaimed Indian-Pakistani author Aatish Taseer of Stranger to History: a Son's Journey through Islamic Lands, part memoir-part travelogue, which has been translated into more than 14 languages and hailed as a 'must-read' for anyone attempting to understand the Muslim world, will discuss his newest book Noon.

Film Screening
Phil Grabsky, whose international hit The Boy who Plays on the Buddhas of Bamiyan, now continues with The Boy Mir in which the documentarian tracks cheeky, enthusiastic Mir from a childish eight to a fully grown eighteen-year-old in Afghanistan.

Performance
Indian-Kenyan-American poet, performer, and activist Shailja Patel will perform a dramatic piece from her internationally acclaimd spoken-word theater show Migritude.

Author Panels
Bengali-American Mitali Perkins will discuss how she interweaves her dual identities into books, some of which have received recognition such as the IRA Notable Book for Global Society and made the ALA's Amelia Bloomer list of great titles that empower girls. Nina Godiwalla will discuss her book Suits: A Woman on Wall Street, an insider's perspective on her experience at Morgan Stanley from an outsider's point of viewboth as a woman and a second-generation Indian American. Bangladeshi-American Roksana Badrudojja will discuss her book In Eyes of a Storm, which explores the perceptions of second-generation South Asian-American women about daily social practices in the U.S. and how they view themselves in comparison to broader American society.
