In order to cover our expected losses for the kit and venue hire which we pay for in
advance, there is a set scale of charges, which applies if you cancel your booking before
starting your sessions. You must give notice to cancel in writing and the charges shown
below apply from the date we receive the notice at our offices.
• If you decide to leave Socatots for whatever reason throughout the term refunds
will only be given if accompanied by a doctor’s note. Any other requests for refunds
will be dealt with on an individual basis and will need to be requested in writing.
• If Socatots cancel a venue for the term you will be assisted in finding another
suitable session. If this is not possible you will receive a 100% refund.
• If Socatots cancel a session at any point during the term you will be offered a
credit voucher for the equivalent of the session cost.
• All Socatots coaches have had full CRB checks and are Socatots trained
• Socatots is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings or effects
• You agree to keep Socatots training system confidential and to not directly or
indirectly copy or use the system; and you also agree not to directly or indirectly
manage or operate or assist in the organisation of any business which competes with
Socatots either while the child is a member of Socatots or for a period of three
years afterwards.
"I get woken at 6am on Friday mornings with Lilly 'are we seeing
the Socatot man today?'"
Q: It’s just football, what else will my child get out of it? A: Your child will develop
balance, co-ordination, agility, numeracy, cognition and all round motor skills, while building
confidence and having fun through structured play. SOCATOTS provides an excellent head
start before starting physical sporting activity at school. We balance the gentle playful
technical aspect with general fun exercises and games to keep the children engaged.
Q: What is there for my child to go on to after SOCATOTS? A: From the age of five,
children can progress to our sister organisation, Brazilian Soccer Schools, ( Futebol de
Salão ) which is now an international concern with hundreds of schools worldwide. See
www.icfds.comwww.icfds.com/guildford for more information.
A: It is not competitive. It is not about winners and losers, successes and failures. The
emphasis is on individual development with the benefit for each child of participating in a
group environment as a team member playing in the same kit, and seeing other children
perform the actions while being praised and encouraged too.
A: The best way to explain this is to think about an orchestra. You wouldn’t put a musician
straight in to an orchestra, so why do we do the equivalent when it comes to football. At
SOCATOTS, we strive to develop the individual – the team, to the extent it exists, is all the
children in your child’s session.
A: Those children interested in football will undoubtedly develop their ability to perform
the basic football skills of passing, dribbling and controlling the ball. For those children who
do not continue with football after the SOCATOTS programme, they will still benefit from
significant early development in their physical and cognitive abilities (i.e. perception,
enhanced hand to eye/foot co-ordination, balance, concentration, anticipation and listening
skills).
Either way, your child will intuitively equate exercise and learning as fun - the right mindset
for whatever they go on to do.
Q: My child just wants to kick the ball, is SOCATOTS for him / her?
A: Of course. Your child will constantly be working with a ball to refine their skills and
techniques. Repetition is a key element of our training and children will be playing with a ball
for the vast majority of their time. Children will be taught that the ball will respond in
different ways dependent on what they do with it. So if they love to kick, we will teach
them many different ways to kick.
Dear Parent
We hope that you are well and that you and your child are looking forward to your
first SOCATOTS session. Below we have listed a few rules that will help provide a
safe and happy environment and also give your child maximum benefit in order to
reach his/her full potential throughout the SOCATOTS term.
1. It is vitally important that you fill in the detail form provided with the
booking form.
2. Please ensure your child is dressed in suitable clothing (SOCATOTS kit)
and footwear (no jewellery). It is also advisable for adults to wear
suitable footwear.
3. Please bring a water bottle or drink.
4. There MUST be parental participation at all times.
5. Whilst the leader is giving instructions, it is important that all parents
and children stop the activity they are working on and listen carefully.
6. If your child’s behaviour is causing a disruption in the class, we would be
grateful if you could take them to one side until you feel that they are
ready to re-join the group.
7. For safety reasons please keep your child away from any equipment that
is not being used for the particular drill in progress.
8. Whilst SOCATOTS sessions will help to improve your child’s mental and
physical development, the main aim from the session is to have lots of
fun!!!
Best regards
