Suspect Arrested in Murder of Grandmother

November 8, 2011 / Baltimore, Md Demond Tyler, 36, was arrested on November 7th and charged with the murder of his grandmother. On November 5, 2011, just after 8:30 am, Shirley Tyler, 67, was found unconscious inside of her home, in the 3200 block of Spaulding Avenue. The Baltimore Police Department and Baltimore City Fire Department responded to the scene where Shirley Tyler was pronounced dead. Her death was later ruled a homicide by asphyxiation by the Office of the Medical Examiner. Demond Tyler was charged with first degree murder and assault charges. He was being held at the Baltimore City Central Booking and Intake Facility. -END-
