FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 8/2/2011 TYPE OF INCIDENT: Shooting - Murder Attempt DATE: 8/1/2011 TIME: 11:22pm DAY OF WEEK: Monday

LOCATION: 3100 block of Woodland Hills Drive COMPLAINT NUMBER: 11-7798 INFORMATION: On August 1, at approximately 11:22 p.m., Pittsfield Police officers responded to the 3100 block of Woodland Hills Drive for a report of a subject bleeding and asking for help. Upon the officers arrival, they found a 31-year old Pittsfield Township resident suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was able to tell the officers that prior to being shot in the head, two suspects had forced there way into his apartment and struck the victim in the face with a handgun. The victim was transported to the hospital and is currently in critical condition. Officers are on scene and the investigation continues. This does not appear to be a random act and investigators believe the shooting may be drug-related.
