INCIDENT: Homicide DATE/TIME: August 20, 2013, 1340 LOCATION: Hempstead ITEM: 01

The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for a Homicide that occurred at 1:40pm on August 20, 2013. According to Detectives, defendant Devon A. Fenner, 25, of 48 Milburn Avenue realized at 1:40pm that he forgot to remove his infant son from inside a 2003 Toyota that was parked in front of his residence. The victim, Dominick Fenner, seven months old, was left in his car seat unattended in the vehicle for approximately thirty minutes. Emergency Medical Technicians and Hempstead Police responded to the 911 call from the home stating that the baby was not breathing. The baby was unconscious and unresponsive, so CPR was initiated and the baby was transported to Mercy Medical Center. The victim was pronounced at 2:27pm by Dr. Jay Itzkowitz. Defendant Devon A. Fenner is charged with Criminal Negligent Homicide. He will be arraigned on August 21, 2013 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead. Details by: D/Lt. Azzata / Homicide Sqd.
