On October 04, 2011 at approximately 11:14 am., the Morris Township Police Department was notified of a crash at the intersection of South St. and Blackberry La. Officers responding to the incident found a one vehicle collision into a tree with the sole occupant in very serious condition and entrapped in the vehicle. The Morris Township Fire Department, the Morris Minute Men FAS and Morristown Fire Department responded to the scene for extrication. The 45 year old driver of the vehicle succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced at the scene by paramedics from Overlook Hospital. Identification of the driver is pending next of kin notification. Officers from the Morris Township Fatal Accident Team, Morris County Sheriffs Departments Criminal Investigation Services, and the Morris County Prosecutors Office Major Crimes unit responded for further investigation. They collected evidence and interviewed witnesses at the scene. At this time the investigation continues.
