VEHICLE BURGLARY SUSPECT APPREHENDED

On Monday, April 11, 2011, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Grand Rapids Police received a call
from a City of Grand Rapids Parking Facilities attendant. The attendant reported that a suspect
in recent vehicle burglaries was in the parking ramp located at 38 Commerce Ave. SW. This
ramp, and an additional ramp, was the location of eight different vehicle burglaries on April 5 th
and April 6th, 2011. The parking attendant had previously viewed the images of the suspect on
surveillance video and was aware of the incidents.

Police officers responded to the area and located the suspect. The suspect was taken into
custody without incident. This suspect has been linked to eight or more vehicle burglaries.

On Tuesday, April 12, 2011, the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office authorized warrants charging
Christopher Scott McMillion, male, DOB 12/26/1973, with two counts of Breaking and Entering
a Vehicle. McMillion was also charged as a habitual offender. McMillion will be arraigned on
Tuesday, April 12, 2011 during afternoon arraignments.

Detectives are still investigating these vehicle burglaries and attempting to link recovered
property to victims. These investigative efforts may lead to additional charges.
