Resident misbehavior in premises and follow up action: An Update Dear Residents, Today one of our elderly residents from

RG block got stranded in the lift for extended period due to BESCOM power failure, and delay in the DG coming up. As with all of us, this generated significant anxiety for the concerned resident, which is understandable & regrettable. However the agitated resident subsequently came to the Customer Care Office, abused the staff members, threw around the phone there and even objects like a ruler , a phone charger at the Customer care executive on duty , which hit her . The resident hurled abuse at the General Manager and others when they tried to pacify the situation. The entire incident has been captured on CCTV. The Association considers such behaviour highly regrettable, and unbecoming of the society we live in. If there are minor disputes or momentarily heated arguments we hope & encourage that they are resolved between the parties ; however this being a case of causing physical harm it had to be reported to the Police . The property management team did so after consulting the MC members . However after the Police Inspector cautioned the resident & the resident volunteered to tender an apology , in the larger community interest it was decided not to pursue the matter further . As we communicated before, the employees of Customer Care (and the entire Premises Management) have been appointed by us, and it is our obligation to protect them from any verbal and physical abuse. We stand committed to protect safety & dignity of people ,regardless of the stature and will not hesitate to address such situations with appropriate actions as may be necessary . We want to restate here that there are various processes & mechanisms for the residents to bring their observations/ complaints/ suggestions on Premises Management to the notice of the MC for addressal. We respect any differing view & disagreements We also encourage residents to contribute towards the overall betterment of our society, however all of this needs to achieved within a framework of civility and dignity. With Warm Regards PRAOA, 2011-12
