SIGNIFICANCE OF AMAYA TO PHILIPPINE HISTORY

Filipinos by nature are great fans of Epics. Famous among the stories that we know are
Biag ni Lamang, Epiko ng mga Maranaw, Kodigo ni Maragtas and a lot more. Up until
know we still appreciate Filipino art because it promotes our heritage, tradition and
culture.

Despite of so much exposure to pop culture, we still desire to look for our own television
shows. Now GMA with the help of Philippine historians created the epicserye "Amaya"
and it will showcase the beauty and wealth of our culture. A very amazing and well
researched story. This is from the original concept of Suzette Doctolero together with
the guidance of UP historians, under the helm of renowned Director Mac Alejandre.

"Katulong ng aming crative group ang mga UP Department of history professors
Dr. Neil Santillan and Dr. Vic Villan habang binubuo yung script sa kanila naka konsulta
lahat.

Amaya open the mind of every Filipino how rich our culture before is and be proud of
our ancestors. t also tries to share something good values to us and it serve as our
reference in our history class. By watching Amaya it helps us to easily learn our lesson.
Before we just imagine how the rajah and other people look like or if we have books it
has very limited information and visual but because Amaya is there we are now aware
of our history.
