Dear tincaps fans, thank you, the fans, for making the 2011 season a huge success. we could not have made this season as special as it was without all of you. in addition to the 376,022 fans that attended tinCaps games (including 22 sellouts), Parkview field hosted another 23,250 fans for a four-game series between the tucson Padres and the las vegas 51s (triple-a affiliates of the San diego Padres toronto Blue Jays, respectfully). the 2011 fort wayne tinCaps had another successful regular season and qualified for the Midwest league playoffs for the third consecutive year, advancing to the second round, one game away from the Championship series. the tinCaps featured exciting young players like keyvius Sampson and Connor Powers, and for the first time included the Midwest league MvP, rymer liriano, who was called the most exciting player in the league by Baseball America. the combination of an excellent on-field team and the in-game entertainment that fans have come to love produced another unforgettable season at Parkview field. the tinCaps were champions off the field as well. in the 12th year of the tinCaps reading Program, more than 300 schools and libraries participated in the program throughout indiana, Michigan, and ohio. Parkview field hosted three Scout overnights (welcoming over 1,100 Boy and girl Scouts), and our mascot, Johnny, was welcomed at little leagues, non-profit groups, and countless other community appearances across the tri-State region. Parkview field provides options for groups of 15 up to 2,500. the purpose of tinCaps Care is to provide opportunities for community involvement, raise awareness about important community concerns, and support community initiatives and programs. community organization of the game this program gives local community organizations the opportunity to be showcased during a game. organizations will have their message and mission in front of tinCaps fans with a kiosk display, a video board feature, and public address announcements. the tinCaps partnered with over 50 organizations during the 2011 season. community outreach through partnerships and community outreach efforts, the tinCaps have given those less fortunate in our community an opportunity to experience a tinCaps game at Parkview field. the tinCaps worked with nearly 30 organizations in 2011. reading program the tinCaps reading Program is an incentive-based system implemented by partner schools from northeast indiana, northwest ohio, and Southern Michigan. over 300 schools and libraries participated during the 2011 season. fundraising program this program allows organizations to sell tinCaps tickets and keep a percentage of the profits. during 2011, the tinCaps fundraising Program assisted more than 30 organizations reach their fundraising goals. mascot & player appearance the tinCaps mascot and tinCap players are active in the community all year round making appearances at little league events, hospitals, and community partners. your event might qualify for an appearance from the tinCaps! the tinCaps continue to strive to give back to the community in which we all live.
