OBJECTIVE

To acquire advanced education in the field of computer science in order to make significant contributions to society.
EDUCATION

PROJECTS

EMOTION RECOGNITION - Currently working on a project to detect facial expressions in a real-time stream of images and accurately catalogue it as the emotion being displayed, using parallel resources such as CUDA. The project is projected to be completed by May, 2012. PARALLEL COMPUTATION OF EIGENFACES Eigenfaces are a set of eigenvectors used in computer vision for face recognition. The purpose of the project was to improve the efficiency of the computation using parallel programming techniques. PERSISTENT FILE SYSTEM Created a persistent file system to maintain college records as part of an internship done at Maventic Innovative Solutions Pvt Ltd (June and July, 2009). UIDAI STORAGE SYSTEM Unique Identification Authority of India (more details found here: http://uidai.gov.in/) mandates assigning a unique number to every resident of India in order to streamline delivery of government social welfare services. The storage system and architecture was studied as part of a course called Information Storage and Management.

AWARDS AND CERTIFICATION

Completed a course at NIIT on Java Programming. Completed Grade 12 of ISC at Sophia High School, Bangalore [2006-2008]. Placed first in the school, winning awards for Highest in Mathematics and Excellence in Physics with an aggregate of 88.67%.

TECHNICAL ACTIVITIES

Part of VOISE (Organization for Information Science Engineers of MSRIT) and conducted several technical events, including a seminar for fellow students on C++ and C. Member of IEEE student organization, M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology. Teaching Assistant at Success Coaching Institut (April and May, 2008).

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Vocal training in Western Classical music, part of The Camerata, a Bangalore-based choir, play guitar. Enjoy playing sports, especially badminton and table tennis. Appointed Cultural Secretary of Sophia High School for the academic year 2007-08, leading my team to a second place finish (placing after the hosts themselves) at Equinox, a fest conducted by St. Josephs PU College among many other victories, helped organize the college fest, Udbhav 2008-09, conducted events for the departmental technical and cultural fest, IgnITe for the past two years.
