Why was this research study organized?


The point of this study being organized, is to bring the current resuscitation science in to play in order to improve life saving skills. The things they wanted to improve, and introduce were just an improved way to perform cpr, in order to be more effective at saving lives.

Describe the scope of the study


Every few years the American Heart Association gets together with other members of the international liason committee on Resuscitation science.

Summarize the results of this study


The new guidelines are based on a systematic, Evidence-based review of resuscitation science. The science is always changing and therefore updated every five years.

What implications does this have for EMS?


The basics of being in EMS is knowing CPR. CPR is the building block for the rest of anything you may have to do while assessing a patient or situation. It can also help to keep patients alive longer so they can receive the treatment they need to stay alive.

Overview
CPR guidelines are updated every five years. This is a necessary process because the science of saving lives becomes better and better every year. Many lives have been saved because of this study.
