What does the term red tape mean, and how does it relate to the federal bureaucracy? Red tape is a term that refers to the rules that government personnel must follow to accomplish a task. Red tape also relates to the federal bureaucracy because it is government personnel that must accomplish a task. Red tape relates to the federal bureaucracy from the fact that our federal bureaucracy involves a lot of red tape, for instance for a legislation to put a bill up for consideration and then the bill influences future policy making decisions.

To what extent is congress to blame for bureaucratic red tape? I believe that we have kept our current federal system of bureaucracy simply because the advantages have outweighed its disadvantages.

What are some benefits of the federal bureaucracy? I believe that one advantage or benefits of the federal bureaucracy is the provision of necessary social services.

What are some of the drawbacks to the current bureaucracy? I do believe that the drawback to the current bureaucracy does include the cumbersome nature of the red tape.
