Teachers Instructions: Before: Give each student the handout below. Tell students to write the names of twelve classmates in the column on the left. They should ignore the sentences at this point. Explain to students that they are going to find out whether these statements are true. Put students into small groups to discuss the questions they need to ask each of their classmates in order to get the information; e.g. Do you celebrate Halloween? During: Students walk around asking each other their questions. They should keep a record of the answers by writing True or False in the third column. After: Students get back into their groups to compare their results and see who had the most yes answers.
