First Name Alex Todays Date December 1, 2011 Article Name Is this the Helicopter of the Future Article Source DOGO news Article Date November 12, 2011 Summary of Article (at least 5 complete sentences, no more than 10) This article is about a new kind of helicopter. This was made by German enginers. It has a yoga ball under the seat and sixteen propellers so it can take off. The pilot controls the helicopter with a joystick. The team says it is safer than a real helicopter because if something goes wrong it can land safely even if four of its propellers break. Since there are no propellers on the top you could wear a parachute. It passes as an ultra light vehicle so you dont have to have your pilots lessens. Personal Reflections (at least 5 complete sentences, no more than 10) I would like to have one of these at my house to ride around in. It would feel a lot better than flying in a regular helicopter because you can land safely even if some of your propellers break. I think that the inventers were very smart to think of this. It was probably very hard to make. I think that it was also smart of them to put a yoga ball so it would have an easy landing.

High Tide (Extended) Research (at least 10 sentences, no more than 20) A regular helicopter is a rotorcraft supplied with more than one engine driven propellers. This lets the helicopter take off and land vertically. Helicopters were built in the first century of aircraft. In the year 1936 the first operational helicopter called the Foke- Wulf FW 61 was built. The earlier designs had more than one rotor. In July 1754 Mikhail Lomonosov demonstrated a small tandem rotor to the Russian Academy of Sciences. It was powered by a spring. In 1906 two French brothers started to experiment with airfoils the experiments resulted in the gyroplane N O.1. In 1907 the plane lifted its pilot about two feet for a minute. In 1937 the FW 61 all of the helicopter world records.
