Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

ِ‫بِسْمِ الِ الرّحْمنِ الرّحِيم‬

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

َ‫عَ ّم يَتَسَاءلُون‬
[78:1] Of what do they ask one another?
Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

ِ‫ن النّبَإِ ا ْلعَظِيم‬

ِ َ‫ع‬

[78:2] About the great event,

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

َ‫الّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْ َتلِفُون‬

[78:3] About which they differ?

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

َ‫كَلّ سَ َيعْلَمُون‬

[78:4] Nay! they shall soon come to know

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

َ‫سيَ ْعلَمُون‬
َ ّ‫ثُمّ كَل‬

[78:5] Nay! Nay! they shall soon know.

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫أَلَ ْم نَجْعَلِ الَْ ْرضَ مِهَادًا‬

[78:6] Have We not made the earth an even

expanse?
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫جبَالَ َأوْتَادًا‬
ِ ْ‫وَال‬

[78:7] And the mountains as projections (thereon)?

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫وَخَلَ ْقنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا‬

[78:8] And We created you in pairs,

 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫وَجَ َعلْنَا نَ ْومَكُمْ سُبَاتًا‬

[78:9] And We made your sleep to be rest (to you),

 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫وَجَعَ ْلنَا اللّيْلَ لِبَاسًا‬

[78:10] And We made the night to be a covering,

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫وَجَ َعلْنَا النّهَارَ َمعَاشًا‬

[78:11] And We made the day for seeking

livelihood.
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫َوبَنَ ْينَا فَ ْوقَكُمْ سَ ْبعًا شِدَادًا‬

[78:12] And We made above you seven strong

ones,
Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫وَجَ َعلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهّاجًا‬

[78:13] And We made a shining lamp,

 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ت مَاء ثَجّاجًا‬
ِ ‫ن الْ ُم ْعصِرَا‬
َ ِ‫وَأَنزَلْنَا م‬

[78:14] And We send down from the clouds water

pouring forth abundantly,
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ج بِهِ حَبّا َونَبَاتًا‬

َ ِ‫ِلنُخْر‬

[78:15] That We may bring forth thereby corn and

herbs,
Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ت أَلْفَافًا‬
ٍ ‫وَجَنّا‬

[78:16] And gardens dense and luxuriant.

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ن مِيقَاتًا‬
َ ‫ل كَا‬
ِ ْ‫إِنّ يَوْمَ الْفَص‬

[78:17] Surely the day of decision is (a day)

appointed:
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫َيوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصّورِ فَتَ ْأتُونَ َأ ْفوَاجًا‬

[78:18] The day on which the trumpet shall be

blown so you shall come forth in hosts,
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ت أَ ْبوَابًا‬
ْ ‫سمَاء فَكَا َن‬
ّ ‫حتِ ال‬
َ ِ‫وَ ُفت‬

[78:19] And the heaven shall be opened so that it

shall be all openings,
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫جبَالُ َفكَا َنتْ سَرَابًا‬

ِ ْ‫وَسُيّ َرتِ ال‬

[78:20] And the mountains shall be moved off so

that they shall remain a mere semblance.
Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫إِنّ جَهَنّمَ كَا َنتْ مِ ْرصَادًا‬

[78:21] Surely hell lies in wait,

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫لِلْطّاغِينَ مَآبًا‬

[78:22] A place of resort for the inordinate,

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ن فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا‬
َ ‫لَ ِبثِي‬

[78:23] Living therein for ages.

 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ن فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَ شَرَابًا‬

َ ‫ل يَذُوقُو‬
ّ

[78:24] They shall not taste therein cool nor drink

 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫حمِيمًا وَغَسّاقًا‬
َ ّ‫إِل‬

[78:25] But boiling and intensely cold water,

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫جَزَاء ِوفَاقًا‬

[78:26] Requital corresponding.

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ل يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا‬
َ ‫إِ ّنهُمْ كَانُوا‬

[78:27] Surely they feared not the account,

 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫وَكَذّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذّابًا‬

[78:28] And called Our communications a lie,

giving the lie (to the truth).
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫حصَ ْينَاهُ ِكتَابًا‬

ْ َ‫شيْءٍ أ‬
َ ّ‫َوكُل‬

[78:29] And We have recorded everything in a

book,
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫فَذُوقُوا فَلَن نّزِي َدكُ ْم إِلّ عَذَابًا‬

[78:30] So taste! for We will not add to you aught

but chastisement.
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ن مَفَازًا‬
َ ‫إِنّ لِ ْلمُتّقِي‬

[78:31] Surely for those who guard (against evil) is

achievement,
Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ق وَأَعْنَابًا‬
َ ِ‫حَدَائ‬

[78:32] Gardens and vineyards,

 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫عبَ أَتْرَابًا‬
ِ ‫وَكَوَا‬

[78:33] And voluptuous women of equal age;

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫َوكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا‬

[78:34] And a pure cup.

 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ن فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَ كِذّابًا‬

َ ‫سمَعُو‬
ْ َ‫لّ ي‬

[78:35] They shall not hear therein any vain words

nor lying.
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫جَزَاء مّن ّربّكَ عَطَاء حِسَابًا‬

[78:36] A reward from your Lord, a gift according

to a reckoning:
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

ِ‫ب السّمَاوَاتِ وَالَْرْضِ وَمَا َبيْ َنهُمَا الرحْمَن‬

ّ ‫َر‬
‫ل يَمِْلكُونَ ِمنْهُ خِطَابًا‬
َ

[78:37] The Lord of the heavens and the earth and

what is between them, the Beneficent Allah, they
shall not be able to address Him.
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

ّ‫ل يَ َتكَلّمُونَ إِل‬

ّ ‫لئِكَ ُة صَفّا‬
َ َ‫َيوْمَ يَقُومُ الرّوحُ وَالْم‬
‫صوَابًا‬ َ ‫ل‬ َ ‫حمَنُ َوقَا‬
ْ ‫ن أَذِنَ لَ ُه الر‬
ْ َ‫م‬

[78:38] The day on which the spirit and the angels

shall stand in ranks; they shall not speak except
he whom the Beneficent Allah permits and who
speaks the right thing.
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ذَلِكَ الْ َيوْمُ الْحَقّ فَمَن شَاء اتّخَذَ ِإلَى رَبّ ِه مَآبًا‬

[78:39] That is the sure day, so whoever desires

may take refuge with his Lord.
 Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

‫ِإنّا أَنذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْ َم يَنظُ ُر الْمَرْءُ مَا‬

‫ت يَدَا ُه وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِ ُر يَا َليْ َتنِي كُنتُ تُرَابًا‬
ْ ‫قَدّ َم‬
[78:40] Surely We have warned you of a
chastisement near at hand: the day when man
shall see what his two hands have sent before,
and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were
dust!
