It is blended with cotton yarn. i. ii. iii. 65 percentage cotton with 35 percentage polyester 50 percentage cotton with 50 percentage polyester 80 percentage cotton with 20 percentage polyester

GREY YARN FABRIC:

Yarn (spun thread) Knitting Dying Padding & hydro Compacting PADDING AND HYDRO: Padding is thin cushioned material sometimes added to clothes. It is often done in an attempt to soften impacts on certain zones of the body or enhance appearance by 'improving' a physical feature, often a sexually significant one. Hydro affected with an accumulation of serous fluid. Compacting:

FABRICS:
Fabrics are different types. They are as follows:

Single jerssy Poly cotton single jerssy Lycra jerssy Rib (single) Rib (dyed)

SINGLE JERSSY:
Single jersey fabric is knitted on a single cylinder with single needles and sinkers. Single jersey fabric is also known as plain knitted fabric. This kind of fabric has good water absorbability and wears comfortable feeling, it always used in making t-shirt for summer wear. It contains 100 percentage of cotton. The process of this fabric is as follows:

Yarn Knitting Dyeing + padding & hydro Compacting

POLY COTTON SINGLE JERSSY:

12

Blended yarn Knitting Dyeing + HDHP (double dyeing) Compacting

Double dyeing:

It contains 95 percentage of cotton and 5 percentage of elastan. This is also a blended yarn.

Grey yarn + Lycra Knitting Heat sealing

Dyeing + padding & hydro Compacting

Heat sealing: Heat Sealing is the process in which at least two thermoplastic sheets are joined. This joining occurs when heat and pressure are applied to an area of contact between the two materials. The sheets are fused to each other when the sealant layer melts and the molecular segments move across the interface to form entanglements. This produces a very strong seal. We can apply heat sealing too many materials to create a custom product to meet your needs. We can heat seal virtually any flexible product made of a thermoplastic material.

SINGLE RIB:
Rib fabric is knitted on double needles i.e. dial and cylinder with needles. Rib circular machines are quite different than single jersey machines; the rib fabric has more elasticity than single jersey. There are 1000 needles in rib machines inside and outside (i.e. Dial and cylinder to knit the Rib fabric. It contains cotton and grey yarn. It is the simple process

PRODUCTION PROCESS:
Firstly, the fabrics are moved to the portion of lab test. After the test it should be shrinkage. SHRINKAGE: It means weight reduction in fabrics. For example, before washing the fabric should be 100cm but after washing it should be 98cm. The reduction of 2cm is known as shrinkage. CUTTING: After shrinkage, the fabrics are moved to the cutting section. There are two types of cutting. 1. Hand cutting 2. Lay machine cutting STITCHING: Then it moves to the stitching section. There are three types of stitching. They are,
1. Over lock stitching 2. Flat lock stitching

3. Singer stitching
17

Over lock stitching:

An over lock stitch sews over the edge of one or two pieces of cloth for edging, hemming or seaming. Usually an over lock sewing machine will cut the edges of the cloth as they are fed through (such machines are called sergers), though some are made without cutters. The inclusion of automated cutters allows over lock machines to create finished seams easily and quickly. An over lock sewing machine differs from a lockstitch sewing machine in that it uses loppers fed by multiple thread cones rather than a bobbin. Loppers serve to create thread loops that pass from the needle thread to the edges of the fabric so that the edges of the fabric are contained within the seam. Over lock sewing machines usually run at high speeds, from 1000 to 9000 rpm, and most are used in industry for edging, hemming and seaming a variety of fabrics and products. Over lock stitches are extremely versatile, as they can be used for decoration, reinforcement, or construction.

Flat lock stitching:

This type of sewing creates a flat seam to the garment and instead of a traditional seam that is raised on the inside; the seam is flat on both sides. The stitching is visible and some of our customers have said it even feels more comfortable Flat lock stitching is currently available on all cycling shorts, bib shorts and tri shorts. Because the stitching is visible you can choose one of these thread colors: black, navy blue, royal blue, red, green, gray, orange and white.

Singer stitching:
A thread sewing through the spine of an inserted book. They stitch the fabric as mentioned in their customer schedule. Stitching Ironing
18

Packing Carton packing

IRONING:
Ironing is the use of a heated tool to remove wrinkles from fabric. The heating is commonly done to a temperature of 180-220 Celsius, depending on the fabric. Ironing works by loosening the bonds between the long-chain polymer molecules in the fibres of the material. While the molecules are hot, the fibres are straightened by the weight of the iron, and they hold their new shape as they cool. Some fabrics, such as cotton, require the addition of water to loosen the intermolecular bonds. Many modern fabrics (developed in or after the mid-twentieth century) are advertised as needing little or no ironing. Permanent press clothing was developed to reduce the ironing necessary by combining wrinkle-resistant polyester with cotton.

PACKING:
Preparation of product or commodity for proper storage and/or transportation. It may entail blocking, bracing, cushioning, marking, sealing, strapping, weather proofing, wrapping, etc.

CARTON PACKING:
Carton is the name of certain types of containers typically made from paperboard which is also sometimes known as card board. Many types of cartons are used in packaging. Sometimes a carton is also called a box.

An invoice or bill is a commercial document issued by a seller to the buyer, indicating the products, quantities, and agreed prices for products or services the seller has provided the buyer. An invoice indicates the buyer must pay the seller, according to the payment terms. The buyer has a maximum amount of days to pay these goods and are sometimes offered a discount if paid before.

24

From the point of view of a seller, an invoice is a sales invoice. From the point of view of a buyer, an invoice is a purchase invoice. The document indicates the buyer and seller, but the term invoice indicates money is owed or owing. transport the goods (i.e. the transport documents). SOURCING OF RAW MATERIALS

Raw material procurement and planning are critical to success, of a start-up unit. The raw materials required maybe:26

Domestically available (within the country):As we know that our country is a resource rich country with abundance of specific raw materials in different state. Accordingly appropriate suppliers of raw materials have to be selected.

Imported from abroad: For importing the raw materials the government rules and regulations have to be followed.

The imports are regulated by the foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992.

The Act provided for the appointment by the central Government, of a Director General if Foreign Trade for the purpose of the Act.

The DGFT shall advise Central Government in formulating export and import policy and implementing the policy.

Whatever be the source of raw materials it must be bought from reputed dealers and agencies only. Before ordering, compare the prices and get quotation from at least 3-4 places and also check whether price is inclusive or exclusive of transportation costs. While receiving the delivery, check the quality of the materials.

Proper planning is essential because non-availability of the required raw material may result in production hold-ups, idle machinery and manpower. On the other hand if too much is ordered too soon considerable amount of working capital gets locked up. All this will lead to increased
27

production cost. But proper inventory management can lead to manageable cash flow situations. For imported raw material whose lead time are large, proper planning is all the more essential.
