Solar Street Light Comparison Tables

Comparison Tables Which Is Best For Your Application?

A comparison table between traditional utility powered High Pressure Sodium (HPS) street light, traditional solar street light and LEO integrated solar street light is presented in the table below. In the table, the RED highlights demonstrate disadvantages and GREEN highlights represent advantages. Red means disadvantages and Green means advantages.

Feature Comparison Table:

Regular Street Light Traditional Solar Street Light LEO Solar Street Light

Uses standard size/connection 90 W high pressure sodium 5500 Lumens (3850 effective) 30-50 Lumen / Watt Photo-sensor or wire control No Back Up Power Source

Uses standard size/connection 40W LED array 3000 Lumens 50-75 Lumen / Watt Photo-sensor External battery in Box at top or bottom of Lamp Pole, Inefficient design needs large cables between components (1 2 nights reserve) Seperate solar array Solar powered Works during power outages

Uses standard size/connection 30W Ultra High Efficient Array 3400 Lumens 113.3 Lumen / Watt Photo-sensor, wire or solar panel Internal Battery, fully integrated into Street Light Head (Approx. 3 nights autonomous operation/battery reserve) 54W Integrated solar array Solar powered Works during power outages

No solar array Requires electricity Works only when grid is energized

Cable requires expensive trenching

No trenching

No trenching No wire in ground

Additional wiring in the ground No wire in ground Wire in the pole Significant resources to install Special crews for safe installation Attracts insects

Wire in pole for Solar Battery No wire in pole Light power connections Specialized crew to install Safe to install Does not attract insects Single piece, simple install Safe to install Does not attract insects

Recent advances in high performance LED street lights, solar panels, and batteries, now make it more-cost effective to consider solar powered lighting. We intelligently apply High Efficiency, High Output LEDs (130lumens/W) with Net output of up to 118 Lumens per Watt. We carefully control the power flow within the Street Light with automated microprocessor control of the power going to the LEDs, coming from the sole or combined power sources Solar and Battery. To maximize the solar panel efficiency we use a central microprocessor to perform Maximum Peak Power control which intelligently controls the voltage and current drawn.
