APPLICATIONS
Truck, turbine or rotor drive shafts, gearbox
gears, axles, half-shafts for rear axle stays.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
Annealed condition: heat to 825C followed by slow cooling.
- Brinell hardness: 217

Shafts of all types, gears and any components


subject to fatigue stresses.

Oil quench from 850C. Temper at 600C.


- UTS: - 0.2 % Yield strength: - Elongation (5d): - Impact strength KCU: 1050 N/mm2 950 N/mm2 16.5 % 100 J/cm2

CHARACTERISTICS
Good repeated impact resistance. Good fatigue properties in alternating
bend stress.

Oil quench from 850C. Temper at 675C.
