    A single family house fire occurred on January 2, 2012 at 7362 Woodhaven Drive in LaPlata, Charles County, Maryland. The fire was discovered by the homeowner in the early stages in the basement room of origin. Responding firefighters were able to contain the fire to that room within 10 minutes. There were no reported injuries to the homeowner or their family members. The preliminary cause of the fire was determined to be accidental due to an electrical malfunction of a power strip in the basement room.

The firefighters responded to the scene within minutes they were able to contain the fire to the room of origin. There were no reported injuries and family members are being the occupants.
