Decimals
Decimals are really useful if you want to say "between 7 and 8" but need to know where in between. Is it a little bit more than 7? More or less in the middle? Just below 8?

So What are These Decimals...

It's like you did on page 1, but smaller! Just as you have units, tens, hundreds and so on, you have tenths and hundreths. going in the other direction. To stop them getting mixed up we use a dot (but everyone calls it a decimal point, to sound clever).

Tens 3 3 3

Units 2 2 2

Tenths 1 9 5 is just a bit bigger than 32. is almost 33. is right in the middle.

Adding and Subtractina Decimals is Easv

I know. It's easy for me to say they're not hard I don't have to do your tests. But trust me on this one, they're OK.

EXAMPLES:

'Decimak
1) It's like normal numbers. 2) You start at the right and add each digit. 3) If it gets to ten or more, you carry the 1 over to the next column to the left. 4) But watch out make sure your decimal points line up. EXAMPLES:

Don't forget the decimal point in your answer.

Mow to Take Away

1) Subtracting is also easy. 2) It's like whole numbers you start at the right and work to the left, subtracting as you go. 3) If any columns have the top number smaller than the bottom, just borrow 1 from the column to the left.
