    The nine parts of the perception process are: 1) Knowledge 2) Perception 3) Recognition 4) Action 5) Environmental 6) Attended 7) Stimulus 8) Receptors 9) Transduction. Knowledge sits outside the cycle as it affects and changes perception. The parts interrelate such that stimuli fire receptors, undergo transduction and processing, and are recognized, with knowledge changing perception and recognition leading to action.     Why does "knowledge" sit outside of the other elements of the perception cycle?- Because knowledge affects and changes perception.

    Describe how the parts of the perception cycle inter-relate? Give an example to illustrate the relationships- Everywhere we go, knowledge changes our perception. We then recognize what we see and act upon it, whether it is environmental or attended recognition. Our receptors are fired by certain stimuli and they go through transduction where we then process what we have seen and perceived.

    Knowledge (or expectation) changes perception. For example, a professor in an art class would view a painting differently than a beginning art student. How can recently acquired knowledge change your perception of the world?- The knowledge that we acquire changes our perception of the world because it has a huge effect on how we perceive the world.
