Bat Shlomo Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2010

In an effort to revive the Zionist Dream and return to our roots, we have purchased an original farmhouse and agricultural land from Baron Rothschilds First Aliyah settlement of Bat-Shlomo. Bat-Shlomo was originally founded in 1889 by new immigrants of the First Aliyah, who came mostly from Russia and Eastern Europe and studied agriculture in Baron Rothschilds agricultural school in Zichron Yaakov. Supported by the Baron, these new immigrants planted vineyards that supplied Rothschilds winery in Zichron (which is now known as Carmel Winery). After over 120 years of continued agricultural history in Bat-Shlomo, we have decided to return to the earth, return to agriculture and fulfill our dream of working the land, by planting vineyards and making high-quality wine in Israel. In July 2010, we planted a new vineyard in the rolling hills of Bat-Shlomo. The clones and rootstock of the grapevines were scrupulously chosen and the rows spacing is exceptionally tight on this rocky, limestone hill. This vineyard was planted under the guidance of experts, in an effort to capture the essence of this historic site and soil.

Bat Shlomo Winery specializes in Sauvignon Blank and will make red wine in the future.
