I would add more opportunities for refresher courses and I would seek to consider the financial impact on referees by requiring multiple event participation in order to qualify for international event recommendation. Unless of course you simply have too many IRs looking for work :). A good IR should have a sharp eves and sharp mind. Knows how to manage a matches without hesitation.

I received certification to learn more and encourage others to participate. I have not been an active referee since receiving certification in 2002. Great job! I will be very interested to see the results. A referee group picture was taken from 1984 - 2002 at every USTU National Jr., Sr. and US Open event. Currently text records of that period of who officiated is hard to come by. But, all of these photos are in the hands of all United States Referees. We need to address this graphic record resource! I would be interested in learning the outcome of the survey. Just an FYI, on question 6.2 or 6.b about having coached a competitor at juniors or seniors - the answer is no, BUT I have coached competitors who medaled at both collegiate nationals and "ultras." The question on outside the US may be better divided by region, pan am as opposed to other regions and include non sactioned events since in the past there were many non sactioned opens that IR s would regularly attend. Given that many of us were TKD players it may help to have an additional choice between Collegiate and Professional competition experience if you revise this. I chose Collegiate. Not many pros out there even among medalists. I am curious about the outside areas of expertise, ie how many MD's, lawyers, teachers, engineers, etc make up the referee corps. I am not an IR. 1- At what level did you start to referee? I am not currently an IR, tho that is one of my goals. The posting I initially saw on the TRUE website did not mention the IR requirement. Today I saw more detailed information on the discussion board. I apologize for not having read all the requirements earlier. I stopped just short of graduating college in order to earn a living, hope to complete soon. Have taken numerous courses re: Kukkiwon Instructors , Hanmadang IR & recently Poomsae IR , Kukkiwon Poomsae courses , coaching courses etc. I typically average 1 WTF event every other year, including IRRC's. Well done Thank you. This is a start.
